Session 6: Reputation and Change Management

As a result of this session, you will learn how to create and maintain governing documents such as Bylaws and learn how to focus your nonprofit on keeping your charter in legal compliance.

Cost: $99 for micro credential, single course.  For virtual attendees, a Zoom link will be sent a week prior to the session to those who registered. Earned micro credential or certificates earned will only be awarded to those who registered.

About the Presenter:

Presenter: Liz Kerns, MA, IOM

About the Presenter: Liz is a highly driven, entrepreneurial leader with extensive experience in organization management from local and state chambers of commerce to a multi-national diversity, equity, and inclusion consulting agency. As an ecosystem-builder, she has spent her career working at the intersection of public relations and digital marketing, nonprofit organization management, higher education, workforce leadership development, and community-university partnerships building strategic alliances to further progressive organizational goals.

Her professional and academic work is rooted in applying best practices to developing training and education programs for professionals across the workforce and career continuum in order to strengthen organizations and teams. Through leadership training grounded in experiential learning, Liz believes that organizations have the opportunity to build stronger foundations by way of maximizing resources and empowering authentic, diverse, and inclusive teams.

She is currently the Director of Venture Development for the Indiana Wesleyan University National and Global Kokomo Thriving Center leading the campus programs and ventures in the Kokomo and North Central Indiana region. Additionally, Liz teaches for Purdue University and facilitates Leadership Kokomo which is a joint partnership between Ivy Tech Community College, the City of Kokomo, and the Greater Kokomo Economic Development Alliance. Her family moved to Kokomo, IN in 2019 when the Greater Kokomo Economic Development Alliance hired Liz to lead the chamber of commerce. Prior to relocating to Indiana, Liz was a faculty member at Olivet Nazarene University, Central Washington University, and Benedictine University teaching public relations and non-profit organization management.

In May 2022, Liz completed a fellowship with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s Business Leads Fellowship program on Workforce Development and is completing a Doctorate in Education in Ethical Leadership this summer. Liz earned her Master’s Degree in Communication from University of Illinois at Springfield and Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism and Public Relations from Arkansas State University. In November 2020, the Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives named Liz as a “40 Under 40 Emerging Leader Shaping the Chamber Industry.”
